URGENT UPDATE FROM DGCA :
The airspace between India and Pakistan is closed for some time and flights are not permitted to transit from Pakistan airspace into Indian airspace and vice versa. However, some of the non-scheduled flight operators have been found to be not complying with the NOTAM/Airspace restrictions and filing their flight plan routing through restricted ATS Routes.
It is therefore to reiterate that all the flight clearances issued by DGCA are subject to NOTAM/Airspace requirements and non-scheduled flight granted flight clearance by DGCA are required to comply with relevant NOTAMs.
Accordingly, you are directed to advise all the foreign non-scheduled operators for whom you obtain flight clearance that while operating through Indian airspace they shall strictly follow the NOTAMs issued by India, Pakistan and Muscat in this regard.
Further, the aircraft operators may be specifically advised that UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE ALL FLIGHTS INTENDING TO OPERATE THROUGH INDIAN AIRSPACE FOR OVERFLYING/LANDING IN INDIA ARE NOT REPEAT NOT ACCEPTED VIA KARACHI AND LAHORE FIR. FLIGHTS MAY ROUTE VIA MUSCAT OR ANY OTHER FIR.
Further, Operator may be advised to follow the airspace requirements/restrictions specified through various NOTAMS for the available ATS routes in Indian airspace due to airspace congestion or any other reasons.
The operators may be advised to consult Mumbai/Ahmedabad ATC for any query on airspace restrictions/available routes.
